April is Diversity Awareness Month when we take time to learn about, recognize and celebrate what makes each of us unique. All of us at LiveVox have compelling histories and experiences that inform our perspectives, but some of us keep our stories to ourselves preventing deeper understanding.
Setting time aside to foster awareness of what makes each of us unique can have a powerful and positive impact on our team synergies and our organizational culture. Diversity awareness month is a great time to reach out, share stories, give each other insight into our different backgrounds, journeys, and perspectives, and create avenues for dialogue that continue regardless of the time of year.
Just last month we observed Women’s History Month and Internal Women’s Day and were lucky enough to have the opportunity to come together in person at our sales kickoff event. We’re keeping the momentum going for Diversity month with a new initiative spearheaded by our Women In Tech employee resource group.
Earlier this week, we kicked off a new quarterly diversity awareness program here at LiveVox intended to foster camaraderie and collective understanding. We’re calling it “LiveVox Connections: Conversations that inspire equity and inclusion”. Our first panel event was held on Tuesday and focused on women’s perspectives of working in technology.
Our panelists included women selected at different levels from departments across Livevox representing Colombia, India, and our US locations. Panelists shared their career experiences, successes and trials, and learnings along the way. It was a great session with a Q&A. We’ll be making these sessions available internally and are sure they’ll inspire food for thought and hope to share

In addition to our long-term, ongoing workplace strategies for improving D&I at LiveVox, we update our company-wide global diversity calendar annually to share monthly observances and mark occasions important to our vast employee demographic.
We regularly update our internal DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) hub with relevant and fun educational materials to get our teams engaged in conversation and broaden perspectives.
Beyond the month of April, we’ll continue to ensure that as we get more involved with diversity and inclusion activities as a company, we’ll nurture and grow our culture as a place where everyone can voice their opinions and bring their authentic selves to work.
